Fife Pilgrim Way

The Fife Pilgrim Way had its Official Opening on 5th July. The Abbotshall Walking Group walked  the first section of this walk  from North Queensferry to Dunfermline on Monday 15th July. (8 members and baby Francis were joined by two members from Whytescauseway Baptist Church and a member of St Peter’s Church)

The weather was beautiful and the sun shone for the whole walk.  We followed the Fife Coastal Path from North Queensferry to the centre of Inverkeithing, turning into Hill Street, crossing over the M90 by Dunfermline Wynd and up Castlandhill Road into Rosyth. We continued along farmland, through a built up area, passing by the edge of Playing Fields and on to Admiralty Road (A985). The next stage is along footpaths and woodland passing Pattiesmuir and Douglas Bank Cemetery and on to Limekilns Road (B9156) and into Dunfermline eventually reaching Dunfermline Abbey where we enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea at Andrew Carnegie’s Museum. .
