Birth, marriage and death certificates

Abbotshall Church does not hold any historical records. ScotlandsPeople at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk is the official online source of parish registers, civil registration, census records and wills and testaments for Scotland. The website is a partnership between the General Register Office for Scotland (GROS), the National Archives of Scotland (NAS), the Court of the Lord Lyon and Scotland On Line.

The burial records for our graveyard are no longer held at the church. The graveyard is currently managed by Fife Council (the successor authority of Kirkcaldy Burgh who took over responsibility for the graveyard in the 1950’s). For information about these record please contact Fife Council at the Burials office, The Lodge, Kirkcaldy Crematorium.

ScotlandsPeople is one of the world’s largest resources of genealogical information and one of the largest single information resources on the web. With almost 80 million records to access it provides an index of Scottish births, marriages and deaths from 1538, census data, and an index search of wills and testaments from 1513.

Thought for the week

Prayer for January

Prayer
Father,
we pray for those
who know the suffering
of total despair
for the terminally ill
and the grief-stricken;
for the depressed
and for those consumed by guilt;
for those who have lost their faith
in life, in others, in you.
We bring before you
Those who feel totally alone
When faced with fears and pain
That threatens to overwhelm them.
Amen
